Received my copy today, from Nautical Mind, very well done, history of Contessa 26. Thanks Bertinol for this information.

Very interesting article on founding of Canadian manufacture of the Contessa in December issue of GAM on yachting magazine. From start to finish on the different manufacturing plants and principles involved.

Nice looking boat, Ihad never heard of this particular model. Sure looks sweet from the outside. I am a little jealous, being a singlehander, this one looks like the perfect fit.
Once again all the best.
(would like to meet at the boat show, however after attending the last few years, there really is nothing I need or probably haven't seen a few times)

Hi Jordan,

New owner has started to make improvements and has stated they plan better dredging in the spring, although the predicted water levels may work against them. Have you noticed any adverse effect of water levels on Lake Ont. ?

Fortunately for me, a fellow sailor, was a diver, and brought along a wetsuit and snorkel. This appeared to be the only option available, since the boat was in 10 inches of mud and the rudder was stuck fast. The sling was thread thru in a couple of minutes and the boat was hauled out without incident. I would have to say it went better than trying to fit the sling under the rudder in shallow water, as in previous years.

Thanks to Ivan, (I assume posted the pics) of the photo of Morava in the gallery, with the sling thru the rudder.

Otherwise we may still be there trying to dig her out.

If you don't find a source over here, it appears Jeremy Roger Yachts have the original replacements. Just follow the link posted under the links on the home page of this web site.
