I concur with your description of the cylinder over the top of the transmission box...however, I couldn't find any markings on the cylinder as to the level required...
Should I just fill to the top or halfway? Thanks for your earlier reply.

20 weight oil...? Ok... The transmission has a threaded bolt on top with a cylinder attached (with no apparent markings)...how much oil do I put it. I guess this is some sort of dipstick?
There is another similar bolt head just above the linkage axis...is this another area where oil is needed...and would that be a different type?

Could any of you gents supply me with a picture of your set-up for your Tiller pilot. I bought my Contessa this spring and it came with a tiller pilot but the previous owner never had a proper set-up.
