Installing Volvo penta MD1B engine?

Bonjour!

It is the first time I join you on the forum, as well as on the site. I am the owner of the CO 26 Hull number ... 73 (if I remember well) since about 5 years now. I sailed down the St-Laurewne twice, and the boat is now in Gaspésie, eastern Québec.

The boat didn't have any engine when I bought it. Since I could not wait to sail, I installed an outboard engine at the time. It has served me well so far, but now, I am considering going back an inboard engine. To restore the best look of the boat, but also to gain better manoeuvrability.

I have access to an old, but working, Volvo penta MD1B engine. I am not sure if it can work for the CO. It is quite heavy (165 kg) and quite big also.

Does someone has any clue on that?
