Topic: available space on transom for lettering

Hi,

I'd like to order new lettering for my JJT.  I'm 4hrs away from my boat
so I was wondering if anyone can tell me the length of useable space on
the transom, on both sides of the rudder?

I recall using a dimension of 22" on each side of the rudder, when I was sizing my transom lettering. 
I will try to confirm this on the weekend and provide a pic.
