Topic: Crown sail insignia

Does anyone have a digital version of the crown sail insignia? The last question about this was kind of old.

Please email to ladonna@latitude38.com

Thanks!

Re: Crown sail insignia

Good day!

See the image gallery for photos of that on my sail.  Unfortunately I have not had time to make a more sophisticated drawing of the logo.  I did try at one point last year but making a nice vector drawing of all the curves proved to be very time-consuming.

I took the picture that I just posted when I put the sails away this fall with the intention of this being a winter project.  From this image it should be possible to trace them which will make the drawing go much faster.

Cheers!

Christopher

Re: Crown sail insignia

Can any one explain when/how the crown insignia became associated with the CO26?
Is it a Taylor vs. a Rogers distinction? I am much more familar with the "CO" insignia.

From what I have seen the "CO" seems more prevalent. Is this true?

Thanks

Jim

Re: Crown sail insignia

I think its a Taylor thing, specifically in 1983 when the boat changed from a Contessa 26 to a JJTaylor 26

Re: Crown sail insignia

Interesting, I have a '76 JJT and the original main carries the crown logo.  Did they alternate years or was it an option to choose between the crown and the CO?

Re: Crown sail insignia

I have a 1980 and I to have the crown logo on the main sail- and I beleive there was always the crown logo with JJ taylor boats on the sail sometime after the mid 1970's.  However, the CO on the hull near the bow changed after 1983 and the crown logo was put in after they became known as JJ Taylor Boats.
