Does anyone have experience importing a boat into Canada from the US?
What paperwork is needed and are there taxes involved?

It depends - if the boat is built in US/Canada, and I believe Mexico, (NAFTA), then no duty applies. If the boat was built anywhere else, last I knew import duty into the US was 1.5%, no idea what the Canadian tariff is.

You have to pay sales taxe only if you bring the boat in canadian water. If the boat stay in the US but with canadian paper done, no taxe to pay. The taxes will be charge only when you will be at the border, no taxes to pay to immatriculate it or documentation.
