Topic: So has it happened to you?

That to matter where you tie up, with inevitability, someone will come and ask "is that a Contessa 26?"

How someone who walks up has either owned one, sailed on one, or knew someone who had one walks over and says "that's a pretty boat."

That a local fisherman/powerboater/person who had hardly seen a sailboat in their life... - ("ask the owner - he's walking up right behind you") would comment on how she doesn't look like today's boats.  How she has nice lines.  How she looks like she can handle herself when it gets rough.

It has happened to me many times. A boat owner I was racing against said my Contessa was "shippy" looking.

The cutworms are in the hollyhocks, again!

It happened to me all the time when I have my Contessa.

There was a rumor once, that every marina in Ontario had at least one Contessa. I happen to know that's untrue, but every marina I EVER had my Contessa in, I experienced someone coming to ask me about the boat.

Every where I travel, including Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand and the Carribean, I have seen at least one Contessa. So cool!
