I saw Tessa yesterday Jose, when I was down looking at my Dad's new boat. She's looking good, but you need to get a name on her!

And to be fair, my water intake did have a strainer.

try running a ground directly to the battery terminal, and see if that solves the noise issue.

I can only approach this from the automobile angle, and suggest that you have a ground loop somewhere. Try grounding the radio with a second ground, see if the whine goes away?

You have no idea how much I'm missing my Contessa now.

I had more better sailing in that boat than I'd had since I had been on the Tall Ships.

It's what we're here for, Jan!

I think that gold has the long and the short of it. It matches the information I had for my Contessa 26.

This depends on the charging capacity of the alternator on the outboard. Is it rated for a higher amperage than the load of your house systems?

I suspect the displacement rating is total weight of the boat. Gear/people/etc. But common advice is to get an oversized tiller-pilot, in order to keep the device from running at the edge of its capabilities.

Unfortunately its too far for me to go, but I really would like to go some year.

I met her at the Toronto Boat Show, where she was promoting the book. It was absolutely fascinating to meet her.

1024k in the gallery.

I used to have her second book, which included many of these articles. It was autographed and everything. My (non-sailing) ex-wife has kept it.

By all means, scan them and post them in the gallery. We'll see about a special section after that.

Well, I live in Toronto, so no big deal for me. I have no boat right now though. I'll have to crew on Jose's.

I think photos would help.

No beer was spilled. I think, really, that no photos were taken either.

It was a fun meetup. Of course, talking Contessa's is always fun, right?

My shore power cable was on the port side of the cabin.

Was a proper twist-lock cable, too.

Jose, no need to apologise! Things come up!

Wow.

Attrition is killing us!

Well, I'll still be there.

No andrew, not a prayer meeting.

That was the day I bought my Contessa. M father and I were inspecting things when that photo was taken.

We're still on for 2pm at the boathouse, Contessa people.

I'll be there.

That is too bad Ivan.  You will be sorely missed.
