I am game too, though I doubt I'll have the time to sail to Kingston this summer. Just started a new job and have no vacation time available. I could definitely drive up there though.

I have to be honest, I haven't had a chance to build the bag  yet. Life intervened, but I'm hoping to get it done shortly.

The quality of the materials and design are superb, I'd highly recommend the kit even though I haven't built it yet. As for the West bag, I don't remember which size it was. It was also a good quality product though, and I am happy to recommend that too.

Furling would be nice, but the bag seems to do virtually all of what I really need. We rarely change headsails here, so being able to keep the sail hanked on is really nice. Also frees up valuable locker space, particularly nice since I'm considering living on the boat for the summer.

Are you sure it needs to be 18 inches from the pivot? Or possibly "no more than" 18 inches? I can't remember where mine was on Kefi, but I feel it was pretty close.

No, they don't. It's been a problem for about 10 years. We find a way to stop them, they find a way around the roadblock. Sort of like the war on drugs, really. And what kills me is that I don't know what's in it for them. One imagines it must be money, but I can't figure out how they make any doing stuff like this...

It's definitely a major net-wide problem.

Okay, currently new member registrations are slightly more complicated than they used to be, but I hope it'll stop the bots from posting spam. Probably not a 100% solution, but hopefully better.

Again, I'm sorry about all the spam we've been getting.

Well thanks guys!

I am still trying to keep the spam levels down. I don't want to have to create any restrictive systems to control the unwanted posts though. I'll keep looking at it, and if I find the right solution, I'll implement it.

Thanks for your patience.

Sorry about the spam, guys. It's been some seriously busy times for me just lately. I've removed it all. If we have more problems like that I'll have to promote some forum moderators to handle spam-removal.

Again, my apologies.

Hello.

info@co26.com is the easiest way to reach me.

Not true, I know there are many LED nav lights that meet colregs. There are no lenses - LEDs are red, green, and white (in navigation applications) as a function of their electronic properties, not because of any coloured lens.

And some are so bright they can cause eye damage.

Is it human nature or is it societal, this us-against-them mentality?

She'a a really interesting woman. I met her last year at the Toronto boat show.

It's always something, isn't it Shannon. It'll come out in the wash, you'll see.

it can be done without putting a hole in the hull. Look around the net for instructions on using a PVC pipe and mineral oil to install it.

Fantastic John!

I've fixed the typo in the first file title.

Thanks for the excellent find. Truly an excellent photograph of a Contessa 26.

I have a garmin chart of lake ontario on my handheld GPS, but I also have a Richardson's book of paper charts.

The GPS one is handy, but really, the book is fairly close to perfect for use on a small boat. I am sure if I were going further abroad I would look at electronic charts with paper backups.

I finally did it, I finally got an Alberg 29 information site up on the 'net.

There's not much there yet, and certainly no amazing forum like here at the Contessa Corner, but at least the information I have is online. Maybe it'll help someone else out. God knows I could have used more information when I was buying mine.

Don't worry, this will in no way impact the operation of this site or my participation in these forums.

I've heard full battens hang up on lazy jacks. At least, I think I've heard or read that somewhere.
