I shall indeed do so Stefan!

Topic: Interested in furling? (4 replies, posted in Sails & Rigging)
I anyone interested in furling?
I have been in contact with the people who supplied the Raudaschl sails for JJ Taylor. They are also the people behind Ultrafurl.
It'd be interesting to see if we can set something up, but I'd need a rough gauge of interest.
Let me know, post here.

The three wires coming out from behind the flywheel are connected to the integral 5amp generator (alternator?).

Re: Ready to be rebuilt (12 replies, posted in Repairs/Modifications/Upgrades)
It's interesting comparing the construction of my Alberg 29 to my old Contessa 26.
In many ways the construction of the Alber 29 is "superior" (to me, anyway). The interior is all plywood tabbed into the hull, the floors are substantial and well bedded, the engine bed is beefy and solid. Keel stepped mast is superior in every way, in my opinion.
The hull-deck joint appears solid, though perhaps a different construction technique (like the Cape Dory's had) would have been superior.
The Contessa 26 is a solid boat, don't get me wrong. I just think a lot of its solidness comes from being small and having the scantlings of a larger boat.

I have a 22lb Bruce, 22lb CQR and a rather small Danforth of unknown mass on the Alberg. Of course, I haven't done any major anchoring yet.

I sure will.
I find it weird that I cannot track this error down. I shall keep working at it.

Not a huge deal, but I appreciate the concern

Right now there's a ridiculously high limit for image sizes, so you can pretty much upload anything. Ideally I'd like to see images no larger than 1024x768 pixels. I think There's a limit of 4MB of uploaded pictures per person, but this is something I can certianly consider increasing if we find it too limiting.

I've added a gallery to the site, accessible through a link at the top. If you have any trouble with it, please let me know. As its a new feature, it might have a few kinks to work out.

Obviously José needs to come over to Bronte and have a refreshing sail on an Alberg 29, just to help him remember what it's all about.
I have a Sleeman's Cream Ale on ice with your name on it José.

I don't know about that. I've been terribly slow with site updates recently. So much going on with the new boat, kids schedules, life, work....

You most definitely missed something!
SMH, the guy who brought us the Pocket Cruisers site and the Contessa Corner decided (understandably) that he'd had more than enough and wanted to move on to other things, so I offered to take the Contessa section of the site over from him. He was willing, I was able, and co26.com was the result.
It's a whole new site, really, with way better searching capabilities. As noted above, a user-upload gallery is in testing right now, and should be made live soon.
I'm very happy to be able to provide a resource for Co26s, despite not owning one any more.

Re: Sad News for Rhiannon (30 replies, posted in For Sale)
Hopefully it will be neither the end of Shannon the sailor-gal nor her possession of Rhiannon. I will keep the faith. If need be, I will find some way (don't know how!) to buy Rhiannon myself, and sell it back to Shannon when she's more settled.

Re: Varuna #324 Sold! (14 replies, posted in Technical)
Deck leaks are about the hardest thing to trace. I'd start with the chainplates, then the opening ports and hatches. After that, the mast partner, then the cabin-top hardware.
Is mid-october going to cause any trouble with hurricane season?

Re: Cradle for Contessa 26 (4 replies, posted in For Sale)
Well, he is a metal worker by trade. The big issue for him is that the boat is now in Quebec City, and the cradle remains in Bronte Harbour. It's a fair hike to come down here and get it back home for him. But he's decided that'll be easier than making one, especially since the cradle apparently meets his marina's strict requirements for cradle construction.

I'll have to go down to Port Credit and visit JC, see how his engine woes are progressing, and take a peak at this other Alberg 29

The cradle is no longer for sale, the new owner of Kefi has changed his mind.
