Minnies is in Newport Beach and a great store but it will be a real longshot to find your mast step.   It is however a fairly easy fabrication for an aluminum welder to make.  You need a TIG welder and there is likely one in Morro Bay or nearby.  Good luck

The cheapest and easiest way to lengthen them if they are swaged is to add a second toggle (swivel) to them.

Does anyone know what the pintles on the rudder look like on the inside and how they are attached/removed from the rudder?

Thanks.  Joe

I don't know the hull number but its a 1984, so a relatively new one.   It is sad to see.

I'm in the San Diego area but get to San Francisco on occasion.  If  I can't find a closer boat I would sure like to take you up on your kind offer when I can get up there.  Thanks. Joe

Are there any boats in California that an owner would be willing to let me see?  Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the Folkboat book and it indicates that the Contessa has around 4" more beam but not much difference in LOA or draft.  It says it is quite a bit heavier, around 700# which is a sizeable increase and speaks of extra room.  Do I understand that it has about a foot more headroom?  From 4.5' to 5.5' or thereabouts?
I have not yet seen a Contessa in the flesh so I am trying to visualize what it's like.
I agree that a posting of the statistics would be a nice addition if anyone has them available to a already very nice and informative web site.

Can anyone inform me of the differences in freeboard and interior height between the Contessa, Marieholm Folkboat and Marieholm 26.  I understand that the others have been slightly enlarged from the original Folkboat, with the Contessa being the largest.  Thanks for your help.
