I replaced all of mine two years ago for about 1200 canadian.

I have a rule 1100 with a float switch mounted to a flattened lead pipe. The hose exits thru the transom with a check valve same height as the exhaust on starboard side. I can retrieve it with the hose as it normally sits under the engine.

I have been wanting to put some in my boat. would love to hear any details about how and where you are puting them. I have been a little concerned about making a hole in the rial in the cabin area. on my 71 contessa it looks like the low spot is under the track on the toe rail for the jib.

I installed a 1gm in my 1972 contessa and it all that would fit. It seems to have enough power but noisier than the 2m which probaly won't fit

I installed a 1gm 2 years ago and run a 12x9 3 blade on my contessa. At 2800 to 3000 rpm I get 5.5 to 6 knots depending on weather. I think the 12 is a bit big for the apature and creates very mild vibration but the boat backs up better than the  10 x13 with the old vire.

the halyard use two rollers for each hallyard, one halyard on each side of the mast. The contessa that I have seen have a handle that can roller reef the main. I do not use this method on mine it is set up with lines to do the reefing so I don't need to go forward.

I resently saw a contessa for sale that had removed the plywood from the port side locker area. It is now open between the sink and v -bert area with just the upright suports left.It looke very open and bright but is it safe to remove the plywood or is it structural.
