Branwyn sold and will be delivered to the San Franciso bay area, after that her trailer is for sale.
Can deliver in California or Arizona .
Contact me on time frame and make me an offer.

I was wondering what different solutions people have for a boarding solution from the water.
Transom or side? how deep?
Pictures work great if you have some,
thanks,
Peter

When I drilled holes and filled the voids on Branwyn, I had epoxy leak in the cabin from the side of the liner.
It would be an easier cleanup if you have someone in the cabin while you inject the epoxy,
Just a thought.

Does anyone have experience importing a boat into Canada from the US?
What paperwork is needed and are there taxes involved?
Thanks.

Hi Jose, Branwyn has access hatches in the cockpit so I could reach that area.
I posted a picture with their location. They are also handy for accessing the exhaust elbow.
I bolted through the deck and will be installing a backing plate as well.
I will take some more pictures next week.

Hi Jose,

I uploaded some pictures from my pin placement, I installed the TB90 bracket from Simrad with a 90mm drop since then, at the same position. I am very impressed with the performance.

I can't figure out how to link to the pics in this message, but they are in Maintenance and Technical.

The placement is a little less then 18 if I remember correctly, from the top pivot that is.

I measured the maximum deflection of the TP and that required to make the tiller move the boat, and it worked out good at this position.
Good luck and enjoy the TP!

I too learned the hard way this week, and a reef and just working jib worked wonders in 20 plus knots. She was trucking right along at 5.5 to 6 knots.
Here is another question: How do people handle gusts when the autopilot is steering? Do you set it up with one extra reef already in?
Is there a guide line for windforce that would knock down the boat? I have learned that the forecasters here in SoCal are more often wrong than right about windspeeds.
Did my first 6 and a half hour outing in 20 plus knots! yeah

Seeadles, Did you use a plug through the deck for the wiring?  Where did you get one? I am thinking of putting mine on the mast as well.

I installed a standard transducer in a piece of PVC cut at an angle and bonded to te inside of the hull with 5200, filled it with water and topped with a plastic cap, to keep the transducer down I just put some corks on top of the transducer and below the lid. Works like a charm. I got a combo chartplotter/GPS /Fishfinder of ebay for 200 so I can see the bottom contour as well.
It will not work on cored hulls and you cannot have any airbubbles between the transducer and the ocean below.
Good luck.

I bought these from an Ebay store close to an inch wide, I dont know the breaking strength but I will try it when the water warms up a little, they come with clips.
Item number 200076250185    on Ebay.

Great name Shannon, I happen to live on Sage street which I will call Artemisia Street from now on.

Does he have trouble with his feet slipping of the folding steps?
I also thought of using the vang purchase and climbing safety lock to hoist myself up.
You are probably right not to make it too easy.....
Great atlantic story Seadler btw.

I need to get up the mast and am looking at options. What do people here have experience with?
Climbing gear seems a lot of work and may be tough on the water, and the ladders in the sail track are worthless if your main gets stuck.
I am thinking of making permanent triangle steps on the mast, does anyone have these? SS or aluminum?

Wow Shannon , congratulations, she looks nice! a lot better than mine did when I bought her, and a running diesel, I have parts if you need them.

I talked to someone who looked at this one, they tried to repair blisters and sanded through the hull at places, it does not have a rudder, amongst other things , don't expect to be in the water soon if you buy this one.

Thanks Donald_duck , do you think the remote on the TP22 is worth the $150 or so extra?

Anyone have experience with tillerpilots?
ST 1000 or 2000 or TP10 or TP22 (with remote)

Do you need one to buy or just to use?
I have one but it is in Arizona....

Mine is a 74 and registered , so it had to have a hin on import to the US. It was put on the starboard side of the transom, but not the ones JJT used on later models, it was hard to find the manufacturer for insurance purposes, but we got it done. Don't know if this helps.
