Yes, many older boats were built without hull numbers. I am not sure when the requirement for unique hull numbers came into effect.

I linked your site in on the main Contessa Corner site as well Jarvist. Hope you don't mind!

That's unfair shannon!

It's a shelf. The locker is about 10-12 inches deep, and hangs above the very forward end of the v-berth.

Both the JJT and JR registries have been updated.

In addition, 27 Contessa 26s have been marked on our map on the registry page. That's fantastic guys! It's quite interesting to see the concentrations and general locations of our boats.

I don't even have a depth sounder. Yours sounds fairly old, but if it works and you can handle the space it takes up, why worry?

For now that stuff can go in the "for sale" forum. The nice part about it being there is people can post their own stuff, and we have the added advantage of it being searchable.

Or send me the pictures and I'll put them up in a tech note.

My post is in the same place shannon, but I have an old old old Autohelm 800. It works fairly well, though its easily overpowered by anything approaching weather.

No, you can't send me anything Shannon. I am happy to be able to do this for all Contessans.

Whatever you decide, let us know. I'm in the market for replacing our 22 year old vinyl wonders.

There's still more updates to the registry coming. It's a bit of a bear to maintain, and I'm trying to make something easier for us to deal with.

I wonder what hull number that is...

It's amazing to see what my boat could have looked like, had it been owned by someone who too absolutely no care of it.

I'll look through the stack of paperwork our boat came with, but I don't think I have such a manual.

We have somewhere between 12 and 18 screws that hold down the cockpit sole. It's a bit of a trial to get at the engine, but more because I have to find somewhere convenient to store the cockpit grate and panel.

I will most certainly think of you while I am plying the waters of Lake Ontario. We're lucky at our marina, we have our own travelift and mast crane, which I think helps with the scheduling. Haulout last fall was mid-october, but let me tell you, by then it was bugger cold out, and 2m waves and small craft warnings all the time. Fun for me, a little much for the kids, especially whith all the sport-fishermen trawling lines all over the place.
