I have a good inflatable kayak and pump, but want something to take a few more people to shore!  There is a  Sea Eagle that looks interesting, inflatable with foldable floor boards....will keep researching! They have kayaks, too..check it out! Thanks!

My father has a heating solution that he learned from some old salt- use a non pressurized alcohol stove like Origo and put a ceramic flour type pot upside down over the burner to radiate heat...I would imagine you could use those pot holders to secure..wonder if there is air intake space?  You would have to get it to fit right I suppose, but never having seen those stoves in person...  Anyone have any experience with this idea?
Any reason to not put your cook stove into the starboard space where the head used to be if a nice mountinig with gimbals were built in?

Actually, could both of you send pics to me?  Thanks ever so much!

we have tons of beach coal and spruce wood here;  would have to mount in small space, so maybe the Dickenson would be appropriate...The lunenburg stoves look great...would hold lots more fuel for sure.

Jose- my sailing instructor gave me the number for Todd, a Beneteau rep., to order those line keepers.  I can't reach him but when I do, I will get the link so we can order them!

Seems like half have the mountable Garmins and the other have the handheld..never having sailed my boat, I am wondering about which is the more workable considering distance to mount, etc....? Thanks for the Garmin advice, Cole!
Oh!  Found a resource at Beneteau from whom I am going to order those line keepers at 5$ a shot, if anyone is interested.

That is close, but they don't have the little ball, you may be thinking of the sail keepers.  They are just a little disc, one screw in the middle and an elastic cord that you bring up under the coil and wrap over the disc.  It made life so orderly!!  Mark, when you find the name of that store in Vancouver, let us know, please!
I wrote the sailing instructor who had them on Beneteau to see if he could order some, but there must be a better way...?

I use the earbones to decorate carved cedar spoons!!  I am 5'2 and have a bit of headroom with shoes on in the cabin..so must be more that 4'11 unless I shrunk!  Haven't tried to get through the hatch yet, though sure Shannon has!
Maybe the boat seller is open to a payment plan or trade?  I have had good luck with that, cause I couldn't wait...when you are ready, you're ready..let no perceived limitation stand in the way..ok, it's Sunday and that is my sermon for the day!  K

Ok, good info!  The prop company that is working with me on this repitched the 2 blade 12rh9 to a 12rh10 and recommends that I give it a sea trial first, so that is the plan..I will post the results asap!  Keep it coming!  Kristin

Has anyone tried the Dickenson, or other, solid fuel (charcoal or wood) heater?  Any feedback?
I am still searching for the heater that would be perfect for the arctic environment, which would have to be installed in the starboard bulkhead, former space where the head used to be... I was told that with the sailboats side to side movement, that the regulators on the propane and diesal would have to be faced forward to maintain the flame, so, that means mounting it sideways....

Hello, Kodiak Girl!  I am a Homer girl..we are neighbors! Good luck with your venture...I was lucky to run into a Contessa here and after lots of research, decided it was the boat for me...haven't had her out of the boatyard yet, but looking forward to a great summer and will be down your way eventually. This has been a valuable site for me as I started from scratch with the whole process in October.
My boat has never been officially for sale, so you may expand your shopping by wandering around looking for ones and talk someone out of it, like I and all the previous owners did!

Ok, after reading the re-fit from Brillig, I am thinking of going with the 3 blade 11x13 prop. for the 1GM Yanmar..haven't heard back from him on his results, but need to decide as put in is in 8 days and today is the day to decide.  Any  feedback, please fire away!  Thanks for all your help!

Not sure, haven't been up to check it all out...

It is about $68 a month in Homer, AK. for a 32' slip...check it out!  Only one Contessa per 2000 miles so far!

If I can learn to sail well enough by then I will certainly be there!  Hmmm... I think I turn left when I get through the Gulf, eh???
Put me on the list!

Anyone heard of a "Son of a Sea Cook" stove??  The previous to the 5th had one mounted on the bulkhead wall above the sink on gimble...he won't give it up, it is in his truck, but thought it was great..

Tiny Dancer's Previous Owner to the 5th power (only one left to find- can you believe 5 out of 6 are in Homer, Alaska?) is wondering if there have been any replacements for the ball sockets in the spreaders for the shrouds?  Can anyone tell me about this?

I know they have them at Beneteau...maybe just have to join to order unless Mark comes up with it!  Thanks alot and will pass on when I find it, they are really great.  What does everyone else use to hold their coiled lines?

Great, thanks!  Mark, if you wouldn't mind finding the name of that shop, I really want to follow up on those keepers, they were great.  Will look into the GPS recommendations!

While on a Benateau for my sailing course, I used these great little discs with an elastic loop, mounted either side of the hatch and used for holding the coiled lines...I can't find any yet..anyone know what they are called and where to get them??
Also, considering GPS units...any recommendations?  Thanks so much...!

Hey, yes, the one like the soccer ball.  I was thinking of securing in the sink!  and using it for heat and heating water.   Got the BBQ for the major cooking!
